Cumming Man Arrested In Gambling Raid

CUMMING, GA — A Cumming man who authorities say was running illegal gambling operations out of two residences was arrested in a raid on Thursday.

Frank Michael House, 54, of Somerset Court, is charged with felony commercial gambling as well as multiple drug charges.

Thursday morning, multiple agencies took part in executing search warrants in Cumming and Woodstock for violations of Georgia's commercial gambling laws.

After a lengthy investigation that began with police in Fairfax County, Virginia, search warrants were served at the two homes — House's Somerset Court address and on Santa Anita Trail in Woodstock.

According to the GBI's commercial gambling unit, both residences were used as gambling houses. House allegedly acted as a bookie, facilitating online bets allowing players to place various kinds of wagers on college and professional sporting events.

He also arranged collection and payment of the players' debts or winnings from the bets, authorities say.

According to the Forsyth County Sheriff's Office, also was charged with two counts of possession of oxycodone, possession of methylene, possession of MDMA, posession of Deca and Sustanon steroids and possession of drug-related items.

He was taken to Forsyth County Jail.

Authorities say additional charges may be pending in both Georgia and Virginia.

The GBI, the Fairfax County (Virginia) Police Department, the Woodstock Police Department, the Forsyth County Sheriff's Office and the Georgia Department of Revenue all took part in issuing the warrants on Thursday. The investigation remains active, authorities said.
