Delays Expected Due To Roadwork in Cumming, Forsyth County

The Georgia Department of Transportation is set to perform routine maintenance activities this week in Forsyth, Dawson, Hall and Gwinnett counties, if weather permits.

Most activities will only require shoulder or median lane closures. Following is a tentative schedule; if emergency response is needed at a crash scene or if emergency repairs are necessary this schedule will change.

Monday is a state holiday. Crews will work Tuesday, Jan. 21, through Friday, Jan. 24. Work hours are 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., if weather permits.

Lane closures are required for patching asphalt, and a flagman or pilot vehicle will direct traffic through the work zone.

Forsyth: A crew will trim vegetation in the rights of way along State Route 400, the shoulder of the roadway will be closed as this work occurs. Another crew will fill cracks in the asphalt on SR 141. A lane closure is required as this work occurs and delays are expected.

Dawson: A crew will mow the slopes inside the rights-of-way on SR 136 and inspect pipes under the roadway.

Gwinnett: A crew will re-stripe faded pavement markings on SR 13 at Woodbine Hill Way, requiring a lane closure as this work occurs. Vegetation will be trimmed in the rights-of-way alongside SR 20.

Hall: A crew trim vegetation in the rights-of-way alongside SR 52 and SR 369, the shoulder of the roadway will be closed as this work occurs. Faded roadway striping on the I-985 exit ramp to SR 369, Exit 24, will be re-striped, this work requires a lane closure as work occurs.

Motorists should reduce their speed in these and all work zones.
