Wells Fargo team members honored 40 non-profit groups, including eight from Forsyth County, at its third annual Days of Giving celebration on Tuesday, Nov. 15.

The Forsyth County non-profits that received $1,000 grants during the breakfast ceremony at the were:

  • Forsyth County Community Connection
  • Jesse's House
  • Leadership Forsyth
  • Mentor Me - North Georgia
  • Supporting Adoption & Foster Families Together

“Just the names of many groups say so much,” said Doug Fuentes, community bank president for the North Atlanta metro area in a statement. “We are proud to reach so many groups and people through this.”

During the Days of Giving celebration, team members in the company’s almost 200 bank stores in Atlanta, along with those in other business lines, selected and recognized groups that were delivering important services in their communities.

Wells Fargo team members also pledged $937,000 through its annual United Way and Community Support campaign, 10 percent more than in 2010.

The banking institution, that launched the annual initiative in the fall of 2009, is also making a $600,000 corporate contribution to the United Way of Metropolitan Atlanta.

“Wells Fargo has a long proud history of community involvement and local decision making,” said Robert Dobbs, business banking area manager. “Days of Giving is the ideal representation of that and we look forward to celebrating our communities in this way for years to come.”
