Victim’s purse stolen, thief attempted to use debit cards.

Car Window Smashed at Little Mulberry Park

A Hoschton woman had her purse and debit cards stolen while visiting on July 8.

The woman parked in the Fence Road lot around 8 p.m. When she returned a little over an hour later, her front passenger side window had been smashed and her purse taken. In addition to the victim’s credit cards, the purse also contained her Social Security card, her son’s Social Security card, her drivers license, the spare key to her vehicle, prescription medication, a disk for a camera and her insurance card.

When the victim called her bank to cancel the debit cards, she learned the thief or thieves had attempted to make two withdrawals totaling $300 from her checking account. Both attempts failed. The thief or thieves then tried to make a balance inquiry that was also denied. All three transactions were initiated at a Citgo station located at 239 Grayson Highway.

The case is listed as active.
