How's Your Third Quarter Going?

Businesses in Gwinnett County and Dacula are starting to see an increase in business profits and are looking forward to better economic times.

More and more, I am asked how my business is going and if the residential and commercial real estate market are improving. Honestly, my market is going pretty well and I am looking forward to the remaining months in 2011. The next question I usually get is, "What you doing now to promote your business and gain market share and generate income?"

Business growth and profits is not about what you or I are doing now to promote my or your business. Rather it is what we have done last quarter or last year that makes this year a success. What I mean is this -- I am not doing anything "right now" to make the second quarter a success. It is what I was doing in the first quarter of the year that is setting the table for the success or possible failure in this quarter.

So, let me ask you this question: What do you have planned and in place that you are doing right now to make sure your business is going to be profitable in the third and fourth quarter of 2011? If you do not know how to answer this question, let me encourage you to figure it out now. Planning ahead is and must be one of the most important things you can do for your business.

For my company, I wanted to generate high quality clients to buy, sell or invest in real estate. To do this, I needed to have a plan in place to make that happen. This included how many marketing dollars I was going to spend, the amount of appointments I needed to make and how much inventory I needed to make sure I was able to meet my clients' expectations as well as build my business.

I cannot stress enough that what you are doing now to generate leads, find new clients and implement the proper programs will make or break the third and fourth quarter of this year. If you want to grow your business and make a profit, this needs to become priority number one.
