Owner: Club Will Be ‘the Disneyland of Gun Ranges’

State of the art facility expected to open in late August or early September.

Verne Fowler is excited and for good reason. Next month, he expects to break ground on a facility he describes as the “Disneyland of gun ranges.”

“We’re state of the art in everything that we have,” Fowler said. “It’s probably going to be one of the cleanest, nicest facilities you’ll ever see or ever be in.”

The , will be far more than just a shooting range. The facility will feature an 8,000-square-foot retail store, a classroom, member’s lounge, gunsmith shop, simulator room and 28 indoor lanes.

Fowler said the club will offer pistol, rifle and shotgun shooting courses as well as personal protection classes.

Everything about the facility -- from the range equipment to the building security systems -- will be state of the art, Fowler added.

Though the club will not open until later this year, Fowler is in the process of opening a temporary store at 1944 Braselton Highway, directly across the road from the site of the new range. The store, which will officially open in April, features a variety of gun-related accessories and personal protection products. Visitors to the store can also view plans for the gun range and purchase memberships.

Beginning next month, visitors to the store will have the opportunity to try out Fowler’s shooting simulator. The simulator is designed to display civilian, police and military scenarios and can be used for firearms, pepper spray or baton training. The system features surround sound and, while not 3D, is very close to a 3D experience in terms of how the scenery shifts with the user’s movements, Fowler explained. For those interested in a more unique experience, a zombie attack simulation will be available.
