Stolen Truck Surfaces in Jackson County

A Dacula man awoke March 29 to discover his work vehicle, a 2008 F-150 Ford King Ranch, was missing from the driveway of his Fairway Knoll Court residence.

The man said he did not know of anyone who would take his truck and insisted the keys were on his table all night. There was no broken glass in the driveway or any other apparent sign of forced entry.

The vehicle contained the man’s wallet, driver’s license, social security card, four credit cards, a toolbox, jacket, sunglasses and an iPod Nano. The man was unable to provide the tag number at the time of initial report.

When the officer called the victim later to obtain the registration information, the man said a deputy with the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office had contacted him regarding a man who had been taken into custody with the victim’s identification, credit cards and keys to a Ford vehicle in his possession.

The man, Solomon Presley, was walking alongside a road in Jefferson when stopped by police. Presley allegedly told Jackson County deputies a friend of his stole the vehicle and gave it to him to drive. Presley led deputies to the vehicle, but refused to identify the friend who he claimed stole the truck.

Presley was charged with theft by receiving.

The Dacula man was advised to contact Jackson County authorities to reclaim his vehicle.
