Today Could Be Your Lucky Day

Mega Millions hits $241 million for tonight's drawing.

Today Could Be Your Lucky Day

What would you do with $241 million? A lucky lottery player may get the chance to explore that question in depth after tonight's Mega Millions drawing.

No one matched all the winning numbers in Friday's drawing causing tonight's jackpot to jump into serious money territory. Friday marked the 15th time the jackpot has rolled since Jan. 27.

If someone should match all the winning numbers in tonight's drawing, he or she will have a choice of two payment options: an annuity option that will net the lucky winner approximately $9.2 million a year for 26 years or a single cash payment of $171 million.

Would you take the annuity option or do you believe a bird in the hand is worth two in the bush? Tell us in the comments.

Mega Millions tickets are $1 each. For an additional $1, players can choose the Megaplier option to multiply prizes. The overall odds of winning any prize are one in 40. The odds of winning the jackpot are one in 175 million.

Proceeds from Mega Millions and all Georgia Lottery games benefit education in the state of Georgia. Since its inception, the Georgia lottery has provided $13.1 billion to the state in education funding.
