Hiram, South Paulding Bands in Radio Contest

The two schools are among the 28 vying to win $5,000 in the “Battle of the High School Marching Bands," and your votes can help them advance in the contest.

Hiram, South Paulding Bands in Radio Contest

One of two Paulding high school bands can march away as the champion in an Atlanta-based radio show contest.

The bands of Hiram and South Paulding high schools are two of the 28 vying to win The Bert Show’s "Battle of the High School Marching Bands." The winning band will receive $5,000, according to the radio show’s Facebook page.

Bert Show listeners and supporters of the high school bands can visit the contest site to view videos of each band performing and then vote on their favorites in each matchup.

The contest began Oct. 8 with the first round ending Sunday. Subsequent rounds in the coming weeks will lead to the crowning of a winner after the contest ends Dec. 8.

The first round has Hiram’s “Band of Gold” competing against Hillgrove, while the “Spirit of South Paulding” faces Woodland High’s band.
