James Arthur Pauley, affectionately known as “Art” to his friends and family, passed away on Jan. 2, at Wellstar Cobb Hospital. He was 74 years of age and had been a resident of Dallas, for many years.
Art was born in Hellier, KY., on Jan. 22, 1939 to loving parents Boyd Pauley and Lillian Perry Pauley. He was employed with Atlanta Overlook Apartments as a maintenance manager, where he later retired. He loved to build furniture and fish. Mr. Pauley was of the Baptist Faith.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 31 years Mrs. Carolyn Pauley of Dallas; three sons Mr. & Mrs. James Edward (Sherry) Pauley of FL, Mr. & Mrs. Richard Allen (Brenda) Pauley of Cedartown, and Mr. & Mrs. Charles Douglas (Barbara) Pauley of FL; one daughter Ms. Connie Lynn Pauley of Haralson; two step sons Mr. & Mrs. Robert B. (Lynn) Dockery of Paulding, and Mr. & Mrs. Raymond M. (Sherry) Dockery of Cartersville; ten grandchildren; two step grandchildren; some great grandchildren; two brothers; four sisters; and many other beloved relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters.
Funeral services for Art will be held at Crossroads Baptist Church today at 2 p.m. with Reverend Harold Turner officiating and Reverend Steve Sheffield offering prayer. Bruce Parks, Lowell Turner, Dale Duvall, Ronnie Osborne, Jeff Turner, and Merle Turner will serve as pallbearers. Interment will follow at Crossroads Baptist Church Cemetery.
