Decatur Schools Has Phone System in Case of Inclement Weather

If bad weather hits and schools close, the City Schools of Decatur has a method to alert families and staff.

Decatur Schools Has Phone System in Case of Inclement Weather

With bad weather forecast for the Metro Atlanta area, the City Schools of Decatur has issued information on how parents and staff members will be notified if schools are closed.

An inch of snow might fall on the Atlanta area by Friday morning, according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. Forecasters told the newspaper that rain could change to snow in northwest Georgia by Thursday afternoon.

Here's what the City Schools of Decatur posted on its website.

In the case of inclement weather days or delays, City Schools of Decatur will call each family and staff member using the phone number listed in our student information system, Infinite Campus.

Families, please make sure your contact information is up-to-date.  Additionally, we will post information on our websites and on our City Schools of Decatur Facebook page.

Finally, you may also tune into the following radio or TV stations: WGST (640 AM, 105.7 FM), WSB (750 AM 98.5 FM), WSTR (94.1 FM), WAGA (channel 5), WGCL (channel 46), WSB (channel 2), or WXIA (channel 11).

Please listen for "City Schools of Decatur" NOT "DeKalb County Schools". Often our schools are OPEN when the county schools are CLOSED because we do not have extreme transportation problems in our small geographic area.
