What Should Go Here? The old Ruby Tuesday

There's a prime business location open near the Court Square on West Ponce.

What Should Go Here? The old Ruby Tuesday

The Ruby Tuesday restaurant in at 158 W. Ponce de Leon Ave. in Decatur.

The company's corporate office in Tennessee said the Decatur store was one of about 30 underperforming Ruby Tuesdays to shut down.

Local response, as measured by blog comments, was mixed. A lot of Decatur residents don't like chain establishments in any form, but some people sympathized with employees who may have lost their jobs.

Looking into the future, what business would you like to see in the old Ruby Tuesday space? Think big -- it doesn't have to be a restaurant.

About this column: Every week or so, we'll post a picture of a vacant store or lot in Decatur and Avondale Estates. You can tell us what you think should replace the empty space. Know of an empty building we should highlight? E-mail ralph.ellis@patch.com.
