Bulls Fall Short in Championship

Congratulations to the Douglasville Bulls. Despite losing two out of three games to the Berkeley Lake Tides in the Sunbelt League Championship series on Saturday, the Bulls had a great season, finishing with a 26-6 record.

The Douglasville Bulls took a 25-4 record into the Sunbelt League Championship series on Friday and Bulls pitcher Brad Hutson pitched a shutout, leading the Bulls to a 3-0 victory against the Berkeley Lake Tides in game one. The Bulls, coached by former Atlanta Braves catcher Todd Pratt, were in great shape when they came home to host two games at Norton Field in Douglasville on Saturday.

Storm clouds gathered though, as the Bulls and Tides took the field at 4 p.m. on Saturday. The rain was not good luck for the home team, and they fell behind in game two, nearly mounting a thrilling come back, but still eventually falling to the Tides 5-3 and forcing a game three.

The Tides took game three with a 7-3 score, leaving Bulls fans looking forward to next season.
