12,271 Votes Cast in Advance Voting

There are five locations that will be open this week for advance voting. Anyone can vote at any of the five locations.

As of Saturday, there have been 12, 271 Douglas County votes cast so far, according to Laurie Fulton, Douglas County elections supervisor.

Advance Voting is going on now through Nov. 2. Locations are open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The City of Douglasville special election ballot can only be voted at the Douglas County Courthouse - and it is in a separate room from the county voting. Look for the signs.

There will be no voting on Nov. 5, the day before the general election.

Anyone can go to any of the five locations to vote. They are: the Douglas County Courthouse; Deer Lick Park; Boundary Waters; the Old Courthouse and the Dog River Library.

On election day, all voters must vote at their assigned polling place and polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

"The most impressive thing to me, so far, is that the wait times have really not exceeded 30 to 40 minutes yet," Fulton said. "Times are even lower at locations other than the courthouse. We've kept them moving pretty well."

The general election run-off (if necessary) will be Dec. 4.

Everyone interested in voting is encouraged by Fulton to visit the My Voter Page at the Georgia Secretary of State’s website.
