Taking the family to a movie these days can break the bank. Between tickets, popcorn and drinks, it can cost a chunk of change.

Now you have a chance to take the kids to see a movie on the big screen without shelling out too much dough. Regal Entertainment Group is hosting Summer Movie Express, with $1 tickets on Tuesday and Wednesday mornings at hundreds of theaters.

Movies are screened Tuesdays and Wednesdays at 10 a.m. Movies to be screened include: Despicable Me 2, Lego Movie, Turbo, Rio 2 and more.

More than 350 Regal cinemas around the country are offering Summer Movie Express.

Participating theaters in the area include: Regal Stadium 22, 2480 East-West Connector Road, Austell; Regal Arbor Place Stadium 18, 6600 Douglas Blvd, Douglasville; Regal Town Center Stadium 16, 2795 Town Center Drive, Kennesaw.

Tickets for Summer Movie Express films must be purchased at the theater. A portion of the proceeds goes to the Will Rogers Institute.

"Many families make this a summer tradition and look forward to our announcement of the long list of fun movies coming their way. And for Regal, this helps us instill that love of moviegoing in another generation," said Ken Thewes, chief marketing officer at Regal Entertainment Group. "The titles this year appeal to a diverse group of tastes, and we know there is a little bit of something for everyone."
