With Summer Solstice 2014 Almost Here, Keep Heat Safety in Mind
The first day of Summer is Saturday, with the arrival of the summer solstice, and it's going to be hot day with the high temperature in the 90s.

The Douglas County Sheriff's Office posted a reminder on how dangerous the heat can be, especially to kids and pets.

"It's going to be a hot weekend. Please make sure to double-check your vehicles for children and pets before you lock your doors," the agency posted on Facebook.

The reminder is especially poignant given the traffic deaths of young children in cars this week in Cobb County and Florida.

According to  KidsandCars.org, babies dying in hot cars  happens about 38 times per year across the United States.
