Higher Education Campus Relocates to Cobb County
Richmont Graduate University will move its national headquarters to the Cobb site once work on the building is completed.
Richmont Graduate University signed off on a $1.2 million purchase of a former hospital sleep center in The Exchange Office Park off of Windy Hill Road and plans to move from its current location near The Lovett School once renovations to the building are complete, The Marietta Daily Journal reports.
The school was formed in 2000 through a merger of the Chattanooga Bible Institute and Psychological Studies Institute. Richmont offers courses in counseling and ministry, and graduates around 60 new counselors each year. The school has counseling offices in several Cobb County cities.
Officials with the school estimate that 80 percent of the building's interior will have to be rebuilt to accommodate its new function, and therefore any estimated move-in date is premature. However, they did confirm that once renovations are complete, the school will relocate its national headquarters to the building.
Additionally, the school is looking to hire at least two more faculty members.
