Hickory Flat Fire Destroys Barn, House, Cars
The early morning fire caused a great deal of damage, but nobody was hurt.
HICKORY FLAT, GA β Cherokee County Fire and Emergency Services doused a destructive blaze in Hickory Flat early Monday morning. They responded around 4:15 a.m. to Vaughn Road where a home and barn were on fire.
Fire Investigator Shane Daniel said it is uncertain at the time whether the single-story house fire or barn fire started first. It's also unknown if one fire started the other, a Cherokee County Fire press release said.
One woman was in the home, but was able to get out safely. In addition the the house and barn, a truck and a vintage automobile in the carport were destroyed, the press release said.

The road closed down during the fire, but one lane reopened around 7 a.m.
Cherokee County Fire Investigators are continuing to investigate the cause of the fires.
