Start celebrating Earth Month this weekend by joining a concert, stacking some rocks or building a butterfly garden.

Where/When: 9770 Autrey Mill Road, Johns Creek, 30022; Friday, April 1, 4 p.m.

Why: Bring your kids and watch the Autrey Mill's animals at chow time. The critters are hungry, so the program starts on time and goes fast. Participants will also be able to view exotic reptiles.

Price: $5 per member child, $7 per non-member child (ages under 3 and parents are free)

Where/When: Chattahoochee River Environmental Education Center, 8615 Barnwell Road, Johns Creek, 30022; Tuesday, April 5, 7- 9 p.m.

Why: Great for homeowners and school volunteers wanting to develop a butterfly garden. This program will be led by naturalist and National Parks Education Coordinator Jerry Hightower and will cover all areas of selection of plants to provide the right environment for bees, butterflies and hummingbirds to thrive.

Why: Enjoy a quiet moment in the high-definition theater and find inspiration in beautiful photography of Georgia’s floral diversity.  This slide-show presentation is also a preview of the center's native plant sale.  

Price: Included with general admission: $8 adults, $5 children

Where/When: , 9135 Willeo Road, Roswell, 30075; Saturday, April 2, 11 a.m.-noon

Why: Learn about the ancient art of rock stacking and make your own cairns in the Fairy Village. While at the CNC, build a fairy house or spruce up your existing house. Bring your imagination and they will supply the nature materials. All ages; pre-registration required.

Price: $10 non-members/$5 members (Adult helper required for participants 12 and under and is admitted free)

Why: Join dave fm as the radio station kicks off Earth Month with this incredible concert featureing 2011 Grammy-nominee Band of Horses, along with newly reunited The Jayhawks.
