Johns Creek To Discuss Proposed Public Safety Antenna

Johns Creek is considering an agreement with Fulton County that would allow the county to build a 400-foot public safety antenna on city property on Old Medlock Bridge Road near State Bridge Road.

Johns Creek To Discuss Proposed Public Safety Antenna
The city of Johns Creek tonight will discuss a proposed public safety antenna structure during its work session, which starts at 5 p.m.

The works session will be held in the Council Chambers at Johns Creek City Hall, located at 12000 Findley Road Suite 300.

The proposed 400-foot public safety antenna is part of a proposed intergovernmental agreement with Fulton County and the city, and the antenna would sit at city-owned property at 9855 Old Medlock Bridge Road near State Bridge Road.

The antenna would improve public safety communications, which the city said will benefit both its Police and Fire departments, but also the Fulton County Schools Police Department, Fulton County personnel that work in Johns Creek and mutual aid partners from Forsyth, Fulton, DeKalb and Gwinnett counties.

The city also states the antenna will improve the public safety radio system coverage within Johns Creek High School, Northview High School, Shakerag Middle School and Shakerag Elementary School.

Following the work session, the council will hold its regular meeting at 7 p.m. in the same location.

During its meeting, the council will consider a rezoning request for 19.4 acres of land at 6900 Block of McGinnis Ferry Road and 11300 Block of Technology Circle from industrial park to community unit plan to develop a 53-lot single family detached subdivision.

City staff has recommended denial of the project.
