Northview Student Awarded For Black History Celebration Efforts
A Northview High School student has been recognized for promoting diversity at her school.

Kiana Chambers was awarded a $1,000 prize from the Princeton Club during its 10th Anniversary Princeton Prize in Race Relations Award Ceremony.

At a high school with unique demographics – predominantly Caucasian and Asian, with 7% black student population, through Kiana’s direct efforts over her four years, the Black History Month committee grew from 10 black students to 50 racially diverse members, and the February assembly produced a celebration of black culture by multiple races.

The Princeton Club is a national service program that recognizes outstanding high school students who work to improve race relations in their communities.
