Aaron Winchester helped lead the varsity football team to an impressive 24-13 win over Model High School. The sophomore quarterback threw for 209 yards, ran for another 98 yards and had a hand in all three Patriot touchdowns.

After a scoreless first quarter, Model opened the scoring on a 62 yard run by Nakia Watkins. After a  Jacob Delk interception on the Blue Devils next possession, Pisgah tied the score on a five yard run by Winchester. The Patriots took a 14-7 lead into the locker room at halftime after Winchester found  Mitchell Phillips on an 11-yard touchdown strike.

Model scored first in the second half scoring when James Brown returned the opening kickoff 90 yards. The extra point hit the right upright, keeping the Patriots in the lead 14-13. The Patriots again drove down the field and increased their lead to 17-13 after a 19-yard field goal by  Austin Harper.

Later in the game Delk's second interception gave Pisgah a short field which they were able to capitalize on. Winchester capped a six play drive with a two yard touchdown run. The key play on the drive was a 30 yard pass from Winchester to Rondy Brownlee on fourth and seven.
