Sweet Jasmine, a young tortoiseshell cat, was rescued from an animal control facility last summer. As the shelter worker was cleaning her cage, she cried for his attention and jumped into his arms. At that point, our visiting volunteer knew we had to save her!
Jasmine stayed with our cat program coordinator for the next 3 months until she found an adoptive home. Sadly, we recently received an email asking us to take her back because of some litter box issues. We quickly found out that Jasmine had developed a urinary tract infection, which had caused her to urinate outside the box. (Cat owners should always take their cat to a vet when there is a sudden change in litter box habits!) At any rate, that issue was quickly resolved once she came back into our care and received an antibiotic, and there have been no subsequent problems of this nature.
We were VERY saddened to learn that Jasmine had been declawed by her new owner, an amputation procedure that many feel is inhumane and unnecessary (and may have contributed to her litter box problems post surgery). At any rate, after an introductory period with her foster home's cats and dogs, Jasmine became "one of the gang" and has fit right in. She is very loving and will run up to her foster mom whenever she enters the room. She is very sweet and very well behaved, completely potty trained, and a real pleasure to have around.
We now hope to find this incredibly loving cat a truly "forever home." Please email Kim at firstname.lastname@example.org if you would like to meet Jasmine or receive more information about her. Also, an adoption application for this cat can be found on our website, www.angelsrescue.org, and can be faxed or submitted online.
