In May, the Kennesaw-based orchestra changed its name from the Cobb Symphony Orchestra to the Georgia Symphony Orchestra to reflect its growth. In other arts-related news, Kennesaw Patch is offering two free tickets to the Blast! musical at the Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre. In case you missed it, the mayor's office has launched a new health and wellness initiative called Fit City Kennesaw. Join other community members in a citywide effort to get healthy.

As a reminder, Monday is Martin Luther King Jr. Day. The city of Kennesaw will celebrate during a special ceremony at Saturday, while will host poet Nikki Giovanni on Monday. We'll post information on local closures later today.
