One person is dead and two others injured following a shooting near a high school in the City of Lawrenceville Monday.

Lawrenceville Police Captain Greg Vaughn tells Patch the shooting happened at 12:38pm on McConnell Drive, right behind Phoenix High School.

The two injured victims were taken to Gwinnett Medical Center. Their injuries are unknown at this time.

"We do not have any suspect information or any suspects in custody said Vaughn.

Vaughn says it is not yet clear if the victims were students at the alternative high school. However, in an earlier email, Gwinnett County Public Schools spokesperson Sloan Roach said the incident involved at least two students.
