Lilburn Police Investigating Another Residential Armed Robbery

This is second driveway armed robbery in the past two months in Lilburn.

Lilburn Police Investigating Another Residential Armed Robbery

On Jan. 9, about 10:30 p.m., Lilburn Police Department responded to an armed robbery at a home in the 4900 block of Old Manor Court.

When police arrived, the victim said that he has just arrived home from work when he was approached by two masked men believed to be Hispanic. The description was based on the suspects' voices.

The victim said that the men came from behind, as he exited his vehicle. One of the men grabbed his arm while the other struck him in the head with a pole or stick, according to a police report.

The men then dragged the victim to the other side of the vehicle, where they stole his keys and wallet from his left pocket.

According to the victim, the men then hopped into a red Ford Pickup truck and drove away.

The men got away with the victim's driver's license, a social security card, a QuikTrip credit card, a work identification and $300 in cash.

Police searched for the vehicle, but could not locate it.

This is the second such incident of a residential armed robbery in Lilburn in the past two months. In the earlier incident, an armed man shot and robbed a man in his driveway on Greenleaf Drive on Nov. 28.

No one has been arrested in either care, according to Capt. Ben Haynes, of the Lilburn Police Department. The two cases are not believed to be related, he said.

If anyone has information that could assist police in these investigations, call Lilburn Police at 770-638-2218.

"I would advise residents to be aware of their surroundings and if something does not look right or out of place to call the police," Haynes added.
