Jenkins Wins Post 4 in Grayson City Council Election

Two council seats and the mayor's seat were on the ballot, but only one post had opposing candidates.

Jenkins Wins Post 4 in Grayson City Council Election
Candidate Linda Jenkins won the Post 4 seat in the Grayson City Council election Tuesday (Nov. 5) for the 2013 general election.

She received 121 votes while her opponent, Laura Gavulic, received 101 votes.

Having lived in and near Grayson her entire life, Jenkins also served on the Grayson City Council from 1977 to 1982.

"Grayson has changed tremendously since I served before," she told Patch back in October. "I just completed Gwinnett Senior Leadership, an organization that educates senior citizens about present Gwinnett and how we can enrich our county/city through volunteerism. So I volunteered to run again!

Also on the ballot were Post 2 and the mayor's seat, but both candidates ran unopposed. Current Councilwoman Allison Wilkerson  will be mayor in 2014 after current Mayor Jim Hinkle, and newcomer Trenton Arnold will fill Post 2
