Walton County Honors Its STAR Students and Teachers

The 2013 Student Teacher Achievement Recognition (STAR) honorees from Walton County schools were honored at a banquet in Monroe last week.

Walton County’s STAR students and teachers were honored last week at the Monroe Gold and County Club, courtesy of the Walton County Chamber of Commerce. The Student Teacher Achievement Recognition (STAR) program honors outstanding high school seniors and the teachers who have been the most instrumental in fostering their academic achievement. According to the STAR program’s statistics, during the past 55 years since the initiation of the program in Georgia, more than 23,500 high school seniors and their chosen teachers have been recognized.
