What Are You Expecting from the Democratic National Convention?

The Democratic National Convention kicks off Sept. 4 in Charlotte, N.C. Are you expecting to have your questions answered by the Obama/Biden ticket?

What Are You Expecting from the Democratic National Convention? What Are You Expecting from the Democratic National Convention? What Are You Expecting from the Democratic National Convention? What Are You Expecting from the Democratic National Convention?

After what has been dubbed a successful Republican National Convention in Tampa, Fla. last week, the president and the Democratic Party now get their turn.

The Democratic National Convention kicks off in Charlotte, N.C., on Sept. 4. During the three-day convention, a case will be made to the American people that President Barack Obama and Vice President Joe Biden need, and deserve, four more years to get the country back on track.

The argument being made is that the president inherited the worst economic situation since the Great Depression, but that it is moving in the right direction. Obama is expected to note that social issues are high on the Democratic agenda and for the first time the party will be making support for gay mariage part of its platform. However, the issue has never managed to garner enough votes to pass at any time it has been put on a ballot. Also, unemployment still remains higher than 8 percent and the national debt is at $16 trillion.

What will persuade you that Obama and Biden deserve to be re-elected in November? What do you want to hear from the speakers and the president during the DNC? Tell us in comments.
