Atlanta Braves Announce Partnership with Cobb County Schools
The team announced initiatives to improve literacy, reward students and teachers, and other educational programs for Cobb students.
Marietta, GA -- The Atlanta Braves announced a new partnership with the Cobb County School District on Wednesday.
The Braves outlined the five-part initiative during the district’s leadership kick off celebration at Hillgrove High School in Powder Springs.
The programs the Braves have partnered to support include:

- literacy programs for K-8
- Braves student leaders for 9-12
- Science Technology Engineering and Math (STEM) Education for K-12
- teacher grants, recognition and recruitment
- jobs for students and teachers
As a way to promote literacy among K-8 students, the Braves will reward students for reading with Braves tickets and promotional items. The Braves Student Leadership program for high school students will offer career exposure and shadowing opportunities as well as workshops, peer discussion, seminars and meaningful service.
As part of the STEM education initiative for K-12, the Braves will help support field trips, technology and science fairs and STEM days at SunTrust Park. The goal of the STEM initiative is to improve learning outcomes and student interest in STEM.

The Braves plan to assist with teacher recognition and recruitment by sponsoring rewards for teachers of the month, end-of-the-year party and an in-game ceremony for the teachers of the year. The Braves Foundation will also award grants to teachers to fund professional development, classroom enrichment, school supplies and field trips.
Working with the district, the Braves will identify internships, game-day jobs and career fairs at SunTrust Park and The Battery Atlanta for students and teachers.
