Marietta Celebrates Reopening of Hickory Hills Park

After a major renovation to , the celebrated its official reopening with a party for the neighborhood and ribbon cutting on Friday.

The city purchased the Hickory Hills Park property in September 2006 from the . The city paid $400,000 and donated the former fire station on Polk Street.

In November 2009, voters approved a $25 million parks bond, of which $1.75 million was used to create the new 10.6-acre Hickory Hills Park. .

The park consists of two tennis courts, a playground, two youth soccer fields, a multi-purpose field, one-half mile walking track, three picnic shelters, a parking lot with space for 137 vehicles and restrooms.

Hickory Hills Park is located at 400 Chestnut Hill Road near Powder Springs Road.
