Woman Puts Fetus in Freezer, Says She Couldn't Afford Burial

Alpharetta has completed its investigation into a fetus discovered in a freezer in an Alpharetta townhome this summer.

George Gordon, spokesperson for the Alpharetta Department of Public Safety said no charges will be filed against anyone involved in the case.

Police determined the mother had a miscarriage in the second trimester of the pregnancy, Gordon stated in a release.

"The mother placed the non-viable fetus in the freezer because she did not have the financial means for a proper disposal or burial," he said.

Assistant District Attorney Miya Griggs Arrested

Fulton County District Attorney Paul Howard released a statement Tuesday indicating he is reviewing the incident report surrounding the weekend arrest of Assistant District Attorney Miya Griggs.

Griggs, 29, was charged with three misdemeanors - disorderly conduct, obstruction and simple battery – after Atlanta Police said she interfered with an arrest outside the Yard House restaurant at Atlantic Station last Friday night.

According to APD spokesman John Chafee, police were called to the scene after Griggs’ male acquaintance, Zachary Mitchell, had been accused of grabbing the buttocks of patrons at the restaurant.

Missing Paulding County Man Found

Officials from the on Tuesday reported the safe return of a man .

William Carl Childers, 44, went missing from his residence Thursday afternoon. The sheriff's office on Friday said family members believe that he may have had intentions of suicide. On Saturday, officials said .

But after being missing a few days, Childers was found over the Labor Day weekend.
