City Manager's Award

Marietta City Manager Bill Bruton awarded Pam Allen, an administrator with Municipal Court, the City Manager's Award for Exceptional Service for their accomplishments for the city and its employees, providing the best internal service to fellow employees and external service to the public, and for epitomizing public service.

Darrell Dickerson Marietta First Award

Rich Deckman, a landscape architect with Marietta Parks, Recreation and Facilities, received the Darrell Dickerson Marietta First Award, which includes a plaque and $500 endowment, given to an employee who serves as an ambassador for the city of Marietta, both internally and externally, and who cares about the city, its employees and its businesses.  

2012 Employee of the Year

Russell Henson, a detective with the police department, is the employee of the year for 2012. Henson was selected by a committee based on recommendations from all city employees.

The Employee of the Year award is presented to an employee who is singled out by their supervisors, peers, citizens and customers of the city of Marietta and Board of Lights and Water for consistently having a professional attitude, providing quality customer services, creating an atmosphere of teamwork, having good attendance, their willingness to help anyone and serve as a role model.

Supervisor of the Year

Steve Campisi, a lieutenant with the police department, recieved the Alex G. Newsome Award for supervisor of the year.

Alex G. Newsome was an employee of the city of Marietta for 35 years. As superintendent of electrical services, he was known for his knowledge of his craft, dedication, excellent teaching skills, tender heart, sense of humor and homegrown vegetables.

Newsome never forgot about life's most important priorities: love of family and friends, hard work, laughter, and commitment to all you do. Because he was such an excellent example to others, the award for outstanding supervisor or manager was named in his honor.
