Grady Among AP Honor Schools

State Superintendent John Barge named among 367 Advanced Placement honor schools in the state of Georgia on Tuesday.

Grady was recognized as an AP STEM School, "a school with students testing in at least two AP math courses and two AP science courses (AP calculus AB, AP calculus BC, AP statistics, AP biology, AP chemistry, AP science, AP environmental science, AP physics B, AP physics C, AP computer science)."

Booker T. Washington High School (AP Challenge School), Carver School of Health Sciences (AP Challenge School), Benjamin E. Mays High School (AP STEM School) and South Atlanta School of Health and Medical Science (AP Challenge School) were also named AP honor schools.

More about Advanced Placement classes and testing:

Advanced Placement classes and exams are administered by the College Board, which also administers the SAT. AP classes offer rigorous college-level learning options to students in high school.  Students who receive a 3, 4 or 5 on AP exams may receive college credit.

Grady High School is the feeder school for Inman Middle School, Springdale Park Elementary School, Morningside Elementary School and Mary Lin Elementary School, among others.
