At approximately 1828 hours on 11/19/12 I was parked in the parking lot of the Texaco Station at the intersection of Northside Dr NW and 14th St NW when I observed a white in color Toyota Camry GA tag BTH7459 traveling Northbound on Northside Dr NW in the far left lane. Before exiting my patrol vehicle I ran its tag on my MDT. My MDT advised the vehicle had no valid insurance coverage. I exited may vehicle and spoke to the driver, Tiniquewa McGruder (B/F) (DOB 2/19/89) of 217 Pine St NW (GA OLN 053455182), advising her as to the reason for the traffic stop. I returned to my patrol vehicle where I was able to verify the vehicle was uninsured by calling All State Insurance Company and well as verifying the status on ACIC. McGruder was also verified as having a valid class CP license on ACIC. I notified Sgt. Schapker, 3594, that the vehicle I stopped was not showing as having valid insurance on ACIC as well as when I called All State. Premission was given to impound the vehicle. McGruder was cited accordingly with O.C.G.A. 40-8-22 Burnt out Headlight (Driverside), 40-6-10 Driving a Vehicle without Valid Insurance, and 40-5-24 Driving in Violation of License Class Restriction. As soon as I verified there was no valid insurance on the vehicle I informed McGruder that I would have to impound the vehicle and to make arrangements to for transport from 1100 Howell Mill Rd NW. When A-Tow arrived the passenger insisted the vehicle had valid insurance. I re-ran the tag on my MDT several time but still received the same response that the vehicle was uninsured. After running the tag one last time on my MDT I recieved the same response that the vehicle had no valid insurance. The vehicle was impounded and removed by A-Tow.
