Midtown Rotary Club Honors Volunteer
Margie Ringfield is the 10th recipient of the Barbara B. Rose Volunteer of the Year Award.

ATLANTA, GA -- For nine years the Midtown Atlanta Rotary Club has been living out its mission by presenting a special award every year that recognizes those among us that go above and beyond in service to the community.
On May 3, 2016, the club honored its tenth recipient of the Barbara B. Rose Volunteer of the Year Award.
As a result of this award, $10,000 has been given to not-for-profit groups in the Midtown Atlanta area and $5,000 to those individual volunteers who have been recognized as outstanding.

All of the 22 nominees are truly winners and the award is about recognizing the tremendous effort that volunteers put forth across Metro Atlanta every day. At a midday luncheon, the club announced that this year’s award recipient is Margie Ringfield.
Ringfield has been volunteering with Georgia PTA for more than 30 years and lives the organization’s motto, “helping every child reach their full potential.” Over the years, Ringfield has helped in just about every capacity imaginable and currently chair’s the Georgia PTA’s membership committee.

All of the work done by the invited volunteers is meaningful, heartfelt and deeply impactful among the communities in Atlanta that most need help. From dogs at the Atlanta Humane Society, to working with visually impaired students, to helping our homeless population, to assisting children and families working through the challenges presented by disabilities… through the years the Barbara B. Rose Award has recognized some of the most deserving people in our community. This year’s ceremony brought attention to 22 volunteers who spend countless hours giving back in our community.
The award’s namesake is a past president and current member of the club who has devoted her life to volunteering and helping organizations that rely on volunteers to deepen their impact.
