Scoutmob, the popular mobile deal company headquartered in West Midtown, announced this week it will integrate with mobile app Foursquare.

"Behold: a match made in mobile app heaven," Scoutmob said Tuesday on its blog.

The partnership will increase Scoutmob's user base by offering its mobile deals -- often offering 50-percent discounts at local restaurants and shops -- in 13 U.S. cities within Foursquare.

Foursquare, a location-based mobile platform that aims to make exploring cities more interesting, has a community of more than 10 million users, according to the company. Scoutmob says currently it has more than 800,000 users.

"The Foursquare-Scoutmob partnership is long overdue" Urvaksh Karkaria with the Atlanta Business Chronicle said in a Monday night report.

"As a loyal Scoutmob and Foursquare user, I'm glad there's one less app I need to constantly check," said the business reporter.

The two companies see the integration as "seamless," according to a Monday post on the Foursquare blog, since no advance purchase is needed to use a Scoutmob deal.

“From day one, we’ve been utilizing a user’s location as a form of currency,” Michael Tavani, co-founder of Scoutmob, said in a blog post. “That has allowed us to flip the traditional ‘pay upfront’ deal model on its head. Our thought is that locals should impulsively explore their cities; having to pay upfront for a deal doesn’t really allow that behavior.

"We’ve always been good at driving people to unique local merchants around each city, and now Foursquare will enhance the Scoutmob experience through their tips and location-based social features.”
