A man was shot and killed outside the Intown Suites on U.S. Highway 78 Saturday, according to Gwinnett Police.
This is an unincorporated area near Lilburn.
According to a press release emailed around 7 p.m. by Gwinnett Police spokesman Sgt. Brian Doan, Vincent Newsome, 50, was found on a second-floor breezeway with multiple gunshot wounds. He died later at Gwinnett Medical Center.
Newsome was a resident at the extended-stay hotel.
There were no known suspects at the time of the press release, which, in part, said:
“Witnesses have told investigators that Newsome was outside in the parking lot washing his vehicle. He then went upstairs (reasons unknown) and was on his way back to the parking lot when he was confronted by the suspect on the 2nd floor breezeway. Multiple shots were fired. Gwinnett County Police Homicide Detectives are on scene and handling the investigation.”
