The owner of the popular Norcross restaurant Mojitos reported a burglary took place in the business last week.

According to the Norcross Police report, the incident occurred the evening of Sunday, Oct. 7. The owner received a text around 7:30 p.m. from his brother, whom he left to close up the business for the day, about some cash that was inside the restaurant. The cash needed to be picked up and deposited, so the owner went to the 35 Peachtree St. business at 9:30 p.m.

He told police that he found the back French doors unlocked and most of the cash gone, according to the report. The owner said nothing else seemed to be taken.

The brother assured all doors had been locked before he left.

Police saw a Stanley 5-in-1 scrape tool sitting on the floor near where the cash had been taken, and it was collected as evidence. The owner said the tool belonged to the business.

He told police that someone close to the business could be responsible for the burglary, so he informed police of everything he knew of the possible suspect.
