Norcross Looks To Develop Around Lillian Webb Park

The city's development authority has put out bids for a developer to rework the downtown area.

NORCROSS, GA — Norcross is looking for a developer to turn the area around downtown's Lillian Webb Park into a mixed-use development.

The city's Downtown Development Authority is seeking bids from developers willing to rework 16 parcels of land, totaling 6.88 acres, downtown.

According to the project's redevelopment plan, the new development should include retail, office and residential properties "to improve and complement existing structures."

Norcross has established a special tax district for the project, allowing the city to work with developers on things like parking structures and stormwater infrastructure.

"The project focuses on the north and south areas surrounding Lillian Webb Park," the redevelopment plan reads. "Completed, it will become our new urban center."

A new regional library planned for downtown Norcross is not part of the Lillian Webb development, but will be nearby.

Developers have until September 2 to submit their plans for the development.

Review and approval of bids will be a lengthy process that will include public hearings and likely take several months.
