Jewish Film Fest Underway at Merchants Walk

Screenings will continue through next Wednesday.

Jewish Film Fest Underway at Merchants Walk

The Merchants Walk 12 Cinema once again is one of the venues for the Atlanta Jewish Film Festival.

While the festival continues through Feb. 20, the Merchants Walk schedule runs only through Wednesday.

The festival continues at Merchants Walk on Friday at 12 p.m. with "Paris-Manhattan," which involves a Woody Allen obsession.

That showing will be followed at 2:05 p.m. Friday with three short films, "All the Broken Pieces," starring Tovah Feldshuh as a grandmother with Alzheimer's, and "Audition," about an Auschwitz prisoner auditioning for the camp orchestra, and "The Basketball Game."

Tickets are available for the Thursday and all of the Friday screenings.

But Saturday's 8 p.m. showing of "A.K.A. Doc Pomus," a full-length feature about a rock and roll songwriting legend, is already sold out.

On Sunday, three films will be shown:

  • 11 a.m., "Portrait of Wally;"
  • 1:15 p.m, "Tiger Eyes;"
  • 4 p.m., "Broadway Musicals: A Jewish Legacy."

Monday's films include the following:

  • 12:15 p.m., "My Best Holidays;"
  • 2:35 p.m., "When Day Breaks,"
  • 8 p.m., "The World is Funny."

On Tuesday, the screenings conclude:

  • 12 p.m., "The Ballad of the Weeping Spring,"
  • 2:30 p.m., "The Last White Knight,"
  • 8 p.m., "Suskind."

Wednesday's final night at Merchants Walk features these films:

  • 12 p.m., "My First Wedding,"
  • 2:30 p.m., "Orchestra of Exiles,"
  • 8 p.m., "Lore."

Tickets are still on sale for all of those showings.

The Merchants Walk Cinema is located at 1301 Johnson Ferry Road, located behind Marlow's Tavern in the Merchants Walk Shopping Center.

Other festival venues include the Regal Cinemas Atlantic Station Stadium 16, Lefont Sandy Springs, Tara Cinemas 4 and the North Point Market 8.
