Handel Attacks Ossoff As "Lightweight Liberal" In Campaign Ad
Karen Handel, a Republican, is targeting Democrat Jon Ossoff in Georgia's 6th Congressional District race.
ROSWELL, GA -- It appears the race to fill the vacant 6th Congressional District seat in Georgia is continuing down a contentious path filled with attacks launched by candidates on both sides of the aisle.
Karen Handel released her first digital ad for the campaign this week, which targets Democrat Jon Ossoff.
Titled "Lightweight Liberal," the ad highlights what Handel refers to as the "the tax-and-spend agenda" fueling the Ossoff campaign.

The ad also alleges the candidate's chief supporters are U.S. House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi of California and Minority Whip Steny Hoyer of Maryland.
Handel states liberals from California and New York are "flooding our airwaves and mailboxes" to replace Tom Price with a "Democrat aide that doesn’t even live in the 6th Congressional District."

"As a long time resident of the district, I’ll work hard to ensure that our representation isn’t auctioned off to Nancy Pelosi and Hollywood big wigs who think they know better," Handel said. "My record of delivering results and getting things done will stand in stark contrast to my opponent’s record of producing propaganda for Al Jazeera and advising his employer on the potential dangers of Guam tipping over in the Pacific.”
The statement refer to Ossoff publicly stating he does not reside in the Congressional district, which is not a requirement, and his work with a company that produces investigations targeting corrupt officials and organized crime for international news organizations.

Handel's ad comes on the heels of another candidate -- Democrat Ron Slotin -- also targeting Ossoff. His TV ad proclaims that it's "time to send an adult to Washington to get results for you." He also blasted the national Democratic Party for getting involved in the race.
