Roswell Plans Send-off for Donated Fire Engine

The Roswell Fire Department (RFD) invites the community to help send-off the Fire Engine to be donated to the Island Park, New York Volunteer Fire Department (VFD) on Monday, Nov. 26 at 10 a.m.

The Village of Island Park, NY suffered devastating loss as a result of Superstorm Sandy. The 1991 Sutphen fire engine will be used by the department until a new truck can be replaced. In addition, RFD is also donating a PPV Gas Fan.

The Roswell mayor and council unanimously approved the donation of both pieces of equipment at the November 14 meeting.

The send-off will take place at Roswell Fire Headquarters, 1810 Hembree Road.
