Lane Closures Planned for Johnson Ferry Road
Starting Sept. 16, the road will be closed between Roswell Road and Sandy Springs Circle to allow a 550-ton crane to be assembled.

SANDY SPRINGS, GA -- Motorists will soon have to contend with another round of lane closures in Sandy Springs.
Starting Friday, Sept. 16, two eastbound lanes on Johnson Ferry Road between Sandy Springs Circle and Roswell Road will close for two weeks as a 550-ton crane is assembled in the road, the city said.
Once assembled, the hydraulic truck crane will be used to lift six, 100-foot trusses to support the roofing for the performing arts center at City Springs.

Because of its size, the crane will arrive on the job site in sections, the city added.
An assist crane will piece the sections together with the crane’s assembled dimensions equaling 65 feet by 30 feet.
