Robbery
- 1125 Hammond Drive, 30328, 12/25 (robbery by snatch): A woman and her son went to the complex to look at a property around 4 p.m. When she exited her car, a man came up to her, pushed her against the parking garage wall, either threatened or did hit her in the face and then took her purse and fled. The suspect is a black male, 5’-5”to 5’-8” and 160 or so pounds. He wore a green and yellow, short sleeved Polo shirt.
- 7900 block of Roswell Road, 30350, 12/28: Around 9 a.m. the victim said she heard knocking on the apartment door. She and her two sons were staying with the resident. Eventually she opened the door and a man came in, pulled a gun, and demanded to know where the homeowner was. The man made the victim lie down on the floor. At that time, the homeowner looked out and saw the man with the gun. She then jumped from the window. The suspect then left. Both victims said the man looked familiar and gave the detectives information onthe person they thought the suspect looked like including street names and where he worked. Missing was $100 and a laptop.
Burglary

- 800 block of Overhill Ct., 30328, 12/24: A property management employee reported someone came into a home where work was being done, and took a miter saw, drill, air handlers, air compressor and paint sprayer.
- 8100 block of Colquitt Road 30350, 12/24 (apartment): The resident noticed the front door had been damaged and discovered someone had forced entry and had taken a laptop from the kitchen, watch, Samsung tablet and jewelry.
- 5500 block of Glenridge Drive, 30342, 12/29: Someone went into the storage area of the Nevadan Apartments and took four AC units, hoisting them over a fence and most likely into a truck or van. The units are $400 each.
- 100 block of Mt. Paran Road, 30342, 12/29 (6:30 p.m. to 8 a.m.): Sometime between the 28th and 29th, someone opened a garage bay door and forced entry to the door leading into the home. They removed the washer, dryer, and HVAC system from the home that is currently under construction.
- 4900 block of Peachtree Dunwoody Road, 30342, 12/29: Sometime between the 23rd and 29th, someone entered the residence by forcing a door, and took several items.
Thefts
- A man on Marseilles Drive said he checked his door-front video and saw a man described as Hispanic, removing a delivered box from his doorstep on Dec. 24 around 3 a.m.
- 6000 block of Riverchase Circle, 30328, 12/24: A package was believed to have been removed from the doorstep of a home after it was delivered by FedEx. It was supposed to have been delivered to a neighbor. (Related to this, Alpharetta police arrested someone last evening who has been stealing packages).
- LA Fitness, 1155 Mt. Vernon Hwy, 30328,12/24: A 25-year-old man reported his wallet was taken from his locker. The lock on the locker had been removed sometime between 5:30 and 7:30 p.m. A credit card was later used at the Target in Dunwoody.
- 8 Concourse Pkwy, 30328, 12/26: An employee reported that her wallet was on her desk in her office. Someone entered the office at some point when she was away, and took the wallet.
- A woman at 789 Hammond Drive (30328) said on Dec. 26 that she had a sub-let agreement with a roommate and at some point, terminated it. When the roommate moved, she took the complainant’s $70 coat. Roommate denies it — which is a good reason to live alone.
- An employee of the Northridge Bottle Shop said a man left the store with a bottle of vodka valued at $.59.
- 300 block of Amberidge Trail, 30328, 12/29: The resident said he placed a yellow Sur La Table shopping bag on the ground behind his car. He went inside and returned ten minutes later only to find the bag gone. It contained a vacuum sealer and food circulator with a total value of $500.
- An HR employee at Blue Pearl Georgia Veterinary Specialists, 455 Abernathy Road, said on the 28th that an employee charged with making cash deposits, is suspected of stealing $320 from that day’s cash fund. The employee was suspected in October of the same thing but not enough evidence was compiled to make a case. The suspect was fired from the job.
- Rivermere Way, 12/28 (Home for sale): The complainant said that between noon on the 23rd and 9 a.m. on the 28th, someone illegally entered the home via a rock through the window of a side door. Several kitchen items were taken.
- The manager of Maya Seafood and Steak reported on Dec. 26 that a customer ordered dinner and drinks valued at $99, then said she did not have the money to pay. She said her date was supposed to show up but didn’t. She was cited and released.
- A woman in the 9200 block of Huntcliff Trace reported on the 28th that her trash can was stolen from the top of her driveway and yard.
- 8700 block of Dunwoody Place, 30350, 12/28: A 35-year-old woman said she moved her belongings with a company called Affordable Movers she found on Craigslist. The day after the move, one of the movers contacted her and said she left her laptop in the truck. She and the person went back and forth on phone and text to retrieve the laptop. Days later she felt the man was avoiding her calls. She said she overhead someone, during one of the phone calls, say that they did not care if the police were called. She said they also called her a b****.
- 5500 block of Glenridge Drive, 30342, 12/28: A resident said clothing, ordered online, and confirmed delivered, was stolen from her doorstep.
- 1155 Mt. Vernon Hwy, 30328, 12/28: A 30-year-old man said he left LA Fitness (of course) after a workout, and was contacted by his credit card company and informed his card had been used in Dunwoody. Someone had taken the credit cards from his wallet in his locker. If or not it was locked, we don’t know.
- 5610 Glenridge Drive, 30342, 12/28: A woman reported that her purse was taken from the men’s room sometime between 8 and 8:30 p.m. The report fails to go into the reason the purse was there in the first place. I think we’d all be interested in that story.
- 7000 block of Roswell Road, 30350, 12/28: A man reported that he discovered several items missing from his gun safe. This includes cuff links, silver coins, several firearms and related equipment. He said the safe was locked and he alone knows the combination. He said the combination could have been obtained from a desk where it was written down on paper and stashed.
- 100 block of Hampton Drive, 30350, 12/29: A 19-year-old man said his friend, Andrea, and her friend came into his room and took his pink iPhone 5C, 14k gold Rosary, and silver necklace, all valued at $2,200. The victim’s mother was at home during that time and saw the pair “suspiciously” go into his bedroom while he was away. Although the theft was not witnessed, his mother said they quickly and nervously left the room.

Assault
- Domestic (6100 block of PDR, 30328, 12/24): Officers responded to the Hilton Hotel on complaint that a woman was screaming. He found them in the parking lot. He asked if they were okay. The woman responded: “He tried to drown me!” She was soaked — and drunk. The man said they were drinking and when they got back to the room, she got into the tub, clothes and all. The male was calm, and explained that she was drunk and acting irrationally. The female was highly intoxicated and agreed to go to the hospital to be checked out. The male agreed to leave and not be at the hotel when she got back.
- 200 block of Franklin Road, 30342, 12/25: A man reported he and another man were drinking when one punched and tried to choke the other. No one died.
- 300 block of Winding River Drive, 30350, 12/25 (domestic): A 21-year-old woman said her boyfriend asked her questions that she did not want to answer, which made him mad. He choked her and struck her in the face. The boyfriend fled before the cops arrived. Warrants were issued for him.
Other Things
- Walgreens, 7500 block Roswell Road, 30350, 12/25: An employee said a man dropped off a prescription at 10 p.m. and was told to pick it up in 20 minutes, before the pharmacy closed. He did not. He called later, telling the employee that someone was going to get shot or hurt.
- 6250 PDR, 30328, 12/26: Around 8 p.m., cops were called to the Marriott Hotel after an employee smelled marijuana in the vicinity of a room recently rented. The officer pinpointed the room and corresponding smell and knocked. No answer. He knocked again and announced who he was. No answer. The room was then accessed via key and found that the occupants had fled through a window, leaving behind several financial transaction cards (32) and embosser and a laptop. Summary: They were smoking weed and making credit cards. Detectives were called out. The suspect associated with the room was not the same looking person as the person making the reservation. The room had been paid in cash.
- 6135 Roswell Road, 30328, 12/28: A man went to the Atlanta Check Cashers to cash a $1,900 check, mailed to him by his wife, to pay off his student loan. The check-cashers determined the check was fraudulent. The man who was cashing the check was upset that the company employee withheld his ID, which was a Georgia Department of Corrections Release ID, so the man called the police. The company on the check, North Country Credit Union, confirmed the check was fraudulent and similar checks were being sold on Craigslist. The offender is charged with third degree forgery ($1,500 or more) and was taken to jail.
Fraud
- 7000 block of Roswell Road, 30350, 12/24: A man reported that someone accessed his personal information and withdrew over $4,900 from his checking account.
Arrests
- Dec 24: After a traffic stop, a woman told the officer she couldn’t find her license. He checked and found it to be suspended for failure to appear in court on a previous ticket. She was arrested.
- A man was arrested after a traffic stop in the 5700 block of Roswell Road on Dec. 24. His license plate was expired and he had no driver’s license. He was arrested.
- 2400 block of Treelodge Pkwy, 30350, 12/25: Cops were called on two suspicious men who had been sitting in a car, in front of an apartment, for about 40 minutes. The officer approached the car, windows rolled down, smoke escaped from inside, the officer smelled weed. One occupant said they bought about 3 1⁄2 grams of marijuana from a guy named Juice who hangs out at the Citgo. Juice is a light-skinned black male, skinny, and about 6’-3”. Anyway, they were cited and released.
- 6000 block of Glenridge Drive, 30328, 12/25: Cops pulled over and assisted a motorist whose car was disabled on the road. The cops smelled weed, questions, answers, small amount of weed found, tickets issued.
- 7785 Roswell Road, 30350, 12/26: Officers were called to meet with a cabbie and passenger and discovered the following: The man picked up a woman at Tony’s Sports Bar and they hailed a cab to her apartment. The woman was trashed, by the way. They arrived and she became angry because she couldn’t find her credit card. She got belligerent and at one point, scratched the male in the face. When the cops arrived, she was staggering up the stairs to the apartment. The officer had her return to the cab and noted in the report that she was highly intoxicated, cursing at everyone there with her, and well, she went to jail.
- 5897 Roswell Road, 30328, 12/27: Just after 1 a.m., an officer observed a man urinating on the grass alongside the Shell Station on Roswell and Cliftwood roads. The man said he had to go and someone got into the bathroom just ahead of him and as such, he could not wait.
- 5610 Roswell Road, 30342, 12/28: Loss Prevention staff at Target observed and detained a female who took $64 worth of clothing and makeup. She was later arrested.
- 7878 Roswell Road, 30350, 12/28: O’Reilly Auto Parts loss prevention staff contacted SSPD regarding an employee stealing internally. The employee had falsified several transactions for just over $11, $19.25 and $110. The items were falsely processed and listed as returns. He told the staff that he did commit the thefts. He was arrested.
