The staff member said several offensive e-mails were directed to board of director members earlier in the summer and believes the same person, yet unknown, is responsible for this incident.
- 9000 block of River Run, 30350, 9/16: The victim said they met with a woman named Kim Tai who represented herself as a wedding consultant and event planner. They paid her $5,940 then found out the business is a fake and her real name is Angelique Kim Tai-Beatty who apparently has a number of Better Business Bureau complaints. The business address in Johns Creek was reported to have been closed by the state of Georgia.
- A 24-year-old woman reported that she received a call from a man saying he Agent Kevin David Morgan, Agent #5038 of the FBI. He said he had a warrant for her for her unpaid college loans in violation of IRS Code 3.3. He told her that she needed to send two MoneyGrams, the first to Jacob Adams in Illinois and the second to Luis Rosales in Texas. She sent $1,900 to the first guy and $1,650 to Rosales. She then, at some point, realized this was a scam.
Rose says: Okay let’s review: If you read this report each week you should conclude by now that the IRS, FBI, INS, and Fulton County sheriff’s officials don’t call people on the phone to threaten to arrest them for IRS back taxes, immigration arrests, college loans and even missing jury duty. That should be the tip off but the incredibly noticeable smoking gun is when they demand you pay with a pre-paid money card!
Remember: There are two things you should do when you receive a call that makes you think “uh, this sort of sounds like BS.” Here they are:
- Keep asking questions. They are not set up to answer them. They’ll get angry and threaten you even more with the arrest. When they do, you’ll know the call is fake.
- Always remain skeptical during the call. NEVER give up that personal information.
- IF #1 and #2 don’t appear to be working, then just act crazy.
Other things
- An employee of the Regal Theater at 1155 Mt. Vernon Hwy said a customer asked for assistance in carrying items he purchased from the snack bar to his seat. The female employee, who knew the man, agreed. When she did so, the man tried to kiss her while rubbing up against her. Officers were called and spoke to the man who denied it. He said he was homeless and sneaks into the theater at times to sleep. The complainant did not want to press charges however he was given a criminal trespass warning and removed from the business.
- 789 Hammond Drive, 30328, 9/13: A 44-year-old woman reported that around 2 a.m. she was driving her car into the parking deck of her residence community when another car stopped, blocking her from entering the parking deck. She said a black male exited the car and started yelling at her and told her to back up her car. A black female exited the car and the black male told the black female to attack the first woman. The woman went over to the male and appeared to calm him down a bit. The man then approached the victim and at that point, she said at this point she was afraid he was going to hit her and told the man she was calling the cops which he replied he didn’t care. The man then got back in his car and moved it. She got the tag and called the police. The tag was registered to a man who lives in Sandy Springs and is wanted on a warrant in Fulton County for obstructing the police and giving a false name.
- 1800 block of Jefferson Drive, 30350, 9/15: A 31-year-old woman said that around midnight, she was pulling into the gated entrance. As she did, another car piggybacked and came through. She stopped to let him pass. The car behind her stopped, then drove off to another section of the complex. A few seconds later a grey BMW SUV drove up (presumed to be the same car) and a black male yelled obscenities at her, then threw a plastic bottle at her car. Inside the car was a woman described as a black female with a blonde wig. The car then left.
- An officer pulled over a car that entered the wrong way on a one-way street at the Prado. The car had a license plate that read “Test Drive.” It was just after midnight. The driver had some weed in the car and was arrested.
- A man reported that he was bitten at the Morgan Falls Park by a Corgi. The owners were a white maleand female who said nothing after the incident and then left in a van.
- A woman on Greyfield Lane (30350) said she took her dog for a walk and during that time, another dog being walked by another human, attacked her dog and left some visible injuries on the dogs back and stomach.
- A woman reported that on the 16th, around 4 p.m. she was in the Kroger parking lot (I think it’s 4920 Roswell Road) when a silver Toyota Camry pulled up next to her. A girl around 13-15 years old in the passenger seat of the car, asked if the woman spoke Persian and then asked if there was a Persian grocery store nearby. The woman said she didn’t think so. The girl then said her mom’s purse had been stolen. The victim then (smart girl) begins to smell a rat and a fraud she ignored them and walked to her car. The now suspects followed so she told them to leave her alone. She took her phone out and snapped a photo. The man driving the car exited, cursed at her, and asked, “Why are you taking pictures of us?” He continued to curse at her but returned to his car and drove off. The photo of the car/tag showed prior contact for solicitation in both Sandy Springs and Dunwoody.

- 5675 Roswell Road, 30342, 9/14 (1400-1925): Someone kicked in the rear door of the victim’s apartment. It isn’t known what is missing but the resident said whoever broke in left a t-shirt and sweater. The resident said he recognized the t-shirt and sweater belonging to a subject, whose name he was familiar with. Street Crimes Unit members picked up the suspect a couple of days later and arrested him for burglary.
- Well I didn’t go much into the narratives of the arrests because they were mostly things that we see veryoften. This week the arrests did not include the following circumstances: Naked people running around in various stages of intoxication; Assaults with lawn darts; Ex-husbands, wives, boyfriend and girlfriends who were allowed to stay in the home after the split which is NEVER a good idea; Small farm animals; Large farm animals; People dressed as farm animals; Dragon Con relatesdl Guys calling themselves Jesus, standing in the road blessing northbound Roswell Road traffic.
- There were a lot of arrests for probation violations, smoking weed and driving around, smoking weed outside the apartment building, various traffic arrests including DUI, no Insurance, no driver’s license, people wanted in other jurisdictions for not paying traffic fines, solicitation, running over things like concrete pillars or other non-removable objects (see marijuana).
