A Sandy Springs woman faces charges for allegedly painting a swastika on a vehicle as well as defacing a sidewalk at Hammond Park.

Leressa Levegeve, 60, has been charged with interference with government property and criminal damage to property in the second degree for an incident on April 25.

According to incident report released by the Sandy Springs Police Department, Levegeve was observed by a witness spray painting the sidewalk in the park with two cans of black spray paint. The front hood and bumper of a 2004 white Mitsubishi Eclipse was also defaced.

The officer responded to the scene approached Levegeve, who was sitting on a curb in the parking lot at the park. Levegeve seen with black spray paint on her hands, feet and right leg, the officer noted. The woman admitted to committing the acts because she "is hurt(ing) for her country of Russia," the report states.

She was transported to the Fulton County Jail's Alpharetta annex without incident.
