A motorcyclist was killed on southbound Interstate 75 near the Windy Hill Road exit Saturday night when a car veered into his lane and knocked him from his bike and into the path of another car.

Cobb Police spokesman Sgt. Dana Pierce said Sunday afternoon that the motorcyclist has been identified as Emanuel R. Mitchell, 31, of Norcross.

are searching for the vehicle that caused the fatal crash, a silver coupe that witnesses say is a newer-model Porsche with tinted windows. It should have moderate damage to the left front from the collision, Pierce said in a news release.

The motorcycle, a black 1990 Kawasaki Vulcan, was traveling between the silver car to the right and a black 2011 Mazda 3 to the left about 8:30 p.m. When the silver car swerved into the middle lane and hit the Vulcan, the motorcycle was hit by the Mazda.

The driver of the Mazda, Sonni Smith, 23, of Atlanta, was not hurt and is not expected to face charges.

Smith stopped and contacted police while the silver car raced away, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.
