The collision killed a Smyrna woman and her Atlanta passenger.

Witnesses: Truck Driver Ran Red Light Before Collision Killing Smyrna Woman

Witnesses said that the driver of a tractor trailer ran a red light at Thornton Road in Douglas County before colliding with a Nissan Sentra and her Atlanta passenger, WSB reported.

Michelle Kamika Chinnis, 35, from Smyrna, was the driver of the Nissan and died after being extricated; and Tracy P. Downer, 44, from Atlanta was the passenger in the Nissan and was pronounced dead at the scene.

The truck driver is identified as Robert John Sansom, 64, from Colorado. He was not injured. Fifteen other people sustained injuries.
