Gwinnett County to Light Tree Thanksgiving Night

The annual holiday event will feature performances by local singers, dancers, and of course, an appearance by Santa Claus himself.

Gwinnett County to Light Tree Thanksgiving Night
After Thanksgiving dinner is over, but before you head out to the mall for Black Friday deals, stop by the Historic Courthouse in Lawrenceville for the annual lighting of the tree on the square.

This is the 26th year Gwinnett County will light the 30-foot Norway spruce. It will be adorned with 30,000 lights.

The festivities start at 5 p.m. on Thursday, November 28 and the county will flip the switch at 6 p.m.

This year's celebration will include entertainment from local musicians Catherine Kimbro, Katie Wolf, Norwood and a performance by the Southern Ballet Theatre and the Class Act Band leading everyone in singing carols.

A parade of local pageant queens and Miss Gwinnett will welcome Santa Claus himself to town. Families can then take photos with St. Nick and his sleigh.

The Historic Courthouse is located at 185 S. Crogan Street in Lawrenceville.
